Let’s take a quick look at all simple craft supplies which you need to prepare:
- 20″ x 20″ Orange tissue paper
- Teal tissue paper
- Plastic wrap or clear cellophane wrap
- Green curling ribbon
- Green washi tape or masking tape and a green permanent marker
- Gift tags
- Googly eyes
- Scissors
Step 1: Cut the orange tissue paper and plastic wrap
Firstly, you need to use scissors to cut 20″ x 20″ orange tissue paper in half horizontally then cut it in half again vertically. After cutting, you will have 5″ x 5″ squares. Then you use 2 pieces of tissue paper for each pumpkin, which is sturdy enough to hold the goodies
Secondly, tear off a sheet of plastic wrap a little bit smaller than the tissue paper and place it over one of your double-layered squares. The plastic wrap will prevent candies from poking through the tissue
Step 2: Add the sweet candies or small toys
There are a variety of ideas for treats for kids to put inside these pumpkin bags. You can probably use candy corn, candy pumpkins, squishy balls or simply cute stickers; everything is all up to your choice. However, remember to use a mug or measuring cup to scoop treats out onto the plastic wrap. After that, you need to shape them into a domed pile in the center of the squares carefully so you can wrap the plastic around the goodies more easily later.
Step 3: Shape the pumpkin bag
In order to save time and energy while shaping the goodies bags, another useful advice from us is that you should use a small ball as a mold to wrap the tissue paper around to help give it a pumpkin shape. If you don’t have balls laying around your house, you could wad up a piece of newspaper in the shape of a ball and it still works out perfectly. Next, twist the tissue paper at the top gently to tighten the goodies bag and secure the stem. Cut the top off the tissue paper to make a flat stem.
Step 4: Create a green pumpkin stem
Wind your tape gently around the stem and tie a piece of curling green ribbon at the base of the stem
Step 5: Create some curly pumpkin vines
Use your scissors to curl the green ribbons into cute little pumpkin vines.
Step 6: Decorate pumpkin goodies bags with cute googly eyes
The final step is using googly eyes to decorate the pumpkin bags. It is a perfect way to add cuteness and get creative so the kids will get excitement for this
